It’s the Humphrey siblings reunion worth waiting for.
Over 15 years since the original Gossip Girl debuted back in 2007, two of its fan-favorite alums treated fans with an unexpected reunion, complete with a photo and an upcoming podcast dropping on September 6.
Penn Badgley and Taylor Momsen, who played Dan and Jenny Humphrey on The CW’s teen drama series, reunited for another episode of Badgley’s podcast, Podcrushed. Two photos were uploaded via the podcast’s official Instagram account.
“A reunion worth waiting for… but don’t ask us what’s going on in the second photo, we don’t know either,” the Instagram caption reads.
Of course, the photo sparked excitement for some Gossip Girl fans, with one commenting on Instagram, saying, “This picture makes me nostalgic for something that was never mine.”
It wasn’t Badgley’s first time inviting his Gossip Girl co-stars to his podcast. Just last year, Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) appeared on Podcrushed’s debut episode. Chase Crawford, who portrayed Chuck Bass in the series, also made an appearance.
Gossip Girl’s Power Duo
Badgley portrayed Dan, an aspiring writer, throughout the hit series’ six seasons. Meanwhile, Momsen’s time on the show was a bit shorter, having exited the show after Season 4, with a cameo appearance in the season finale. Though her time on Gossip Girl was relatively shorter than the rest of the ensemble cast, her character’s chemistry with Dan has become an instant crowd favorite since the show’s debut.
The show’s synopsis reads: “Privileged teens living on the Upper East Side of New York can hide no secret from the ruthless blogger who is always watching.”
The rest of the Gossip Girl cast members include Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen, Chace Crawford as Nate Archibald, Jessica Szohr as Vanessa Abrams, Kelly Rutherford as Lily van der Woodsen, Matthew Settle as Rufus Humphrey, and Kaylee DeFer as Ivy Dickens.
