Star Wars fans are eating well at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. Thursday’s “Star Wars: Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away” panel revealed a ton of new High Republic-based books and comics set to release in 2024 and 2025, and Hasbro also revealed a new addition to its Black Series line of figures: Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh.
Earlier this year, Vernestra made the jump from page to screen in the Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte, played by Rebecca Henderson. The character debuted in the 2021 middle-grade novel Star Wars: The High Republic – A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland, though Henderson’s version of the character is much older and has seen a lot more life. When last we saw Vernestra in Star Wars: The Acolyte, she presented her investigation findings to the High Council and briefly spoke about the past and future with Mae Aniseya (Amandla Stenberg). Some of the time between will be chronicled in next year’s Star Wars: The Acolyte – Wayseeker, also written by Ireland.
Hasbro’s new figure resembles Henderson, and her backstory also comes straight from The Acolyte.
