ill peach began as a songwriting and production duo, working with SZA, Pierce the Veil, and Weezer. However, their wonky pop quickly made them outliers in the studio, leading to 2023’s THIS IS NOT AN EXIT. Their next album, EAVESDROPPING, arrives on June 26 via Handwritten Records, and it’s their first since becoming a trio with guitarist Jesse Schuster (Jean Dawson, Dua Saleh).
“EAVESDROPPING is an album that immerses you in the experience of being a fly on the wall, privy to the strange, unsettling, and yet strangely beautiful tapestry of human interactions,” vocalist Jess Corazza says. “In the middle of making this album, I lost my father in 2024. Even though every bone in my body was screaming with grief, I put all my creative energy toward completing this album. Which in turn felt cathartic and therapeutic because it forced me out of the heaviness and into something that felt like colorful, life-giving energy. I’ve always had a bad habit of eavesdropping, but this time around, it helped me step out of my grief in a way and almost place myself in someone else’s story for a moment.”

Their latest single, “SMALL TALK,” was born out of a “collection of overheard moments,” where Corazza went out to eat with a mission: “Mostly to eavesdrop. Maybe I’d be bored with the conversation at my own table or just more interested in everything happening around me. No matter where I turned, it was always the same thing — so painfully mundane and basic. Weather, traffic, errands, work. Just… autopilot conversation. Apparently, I don’t hide my boredom very well.” Hear for yourself below.
