EXCLUSIVE: Incredible Film has boarded sales on Dutch-language burnout drama Honestly, I’m Fine, starring Gaite Jansen (Peaky Blinders, Babygirl) and Jonas Smulders (The Judgement, Heartbeats).
Adapted from Myrthe van der Meer’s autobiographical novel Paaz, the movie follows a woman who ends up in a psychiatric ward after a burnout and discovers that “normal” is far more fragile and universal than she ever imagined.
Netherlands-based company Incredible Film will launch sales on the title at the Berlinale’s European Film Market next month.
The company will also continue sales on Amsterdamned II, which it has just sold to FyP Media for Spain. The long-awaited sequel to director Dick Maas’s 1988 cult crime-horror released in the Netherlands in December where it reached over 260,000 admissions to date.
The EFM slate also features Appie Boudellah romantic drama Perfectly Imperfect, starring Dutch-Spanish actress Yolanthe Cabau an actress and model whose carefully controlled life begins to unravel after a career setback and an unexpected pregnancy after a one-night stand.
Further titles include rom-com I Call Him Dog about a man whose quiet life is upended after he reluctantly inherits an energetic dog from a deceased relative.
“We’re proud to present a line-up that balances that commercial appeal with meaningful storytelling for global audiences,” said Daniëlle Raaphorst, CEO of Incredible Film.
