With many fans taking to the internet to submit their negative reviews towards the recently released Ironheart series, Anthony Ramos, who embodies the villainous Hood in the Disney+ show, has come out to share his thoughts on the said backlash. In a recent interview, the actor noted that regardless of the things that people are saying about the Dominique Thorne-led series, he remains proud of the final product. The Ironheart series premiered its first three episodes on June 25.
Anthony Ramos says he is proud of Ironheart, isn’t worried about backlash
In a recent interview, the Twisters star remarked that people ought to have different opinions on things. He then gave a fresh perspective on the ‘Ironheart backlash’ narrative by pointing out that, at the very least, the series is trending.
“You know, you’re gonna have negativity no matter what, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been in Transformers, people talking s–t, and now this one, people talking s–t,” Anthony Ramos told Buzzfeed regarding the criticism that Ironheart has attracted. He then added, “Everybody’s going to say whatever they want to say, but at the end of the day, we know what we made, and we’re proud of what we made.”
Anthony Ramos concluded his account by further breaking down the negative response towards Ironheart, stating, “When you’re the first of a thing, and we’re not necessarily the first to do this, but of all the shows, we’re definitely different, right? And I think that when you’re stepping out a little bit like that, you put yourself in a position for people to say whatever they want. I think everybody’s entitled to their opinion, and you know, and at least they’re talking about it because if they ain’t then I’d be worried.”
So far, the first three episodes of Ironheart have garnered mixed reviews from critics. SuperHeroHype’s Matt Morrison gave the show a middling rating of 5/10, stating that the whole thing “falls flat.” The series still has three episodes remaining on its roster, which will premiere on Disney+ on July 1 at 6 PM PT.
