James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, announced on his social media that production has wrapped on the highly anticipated Superman film, which he has been both writing and directing. To mark the completion, Gunn shared a heartfelt photo with the cast and his DC Studios partner Peter Safran, capturing a moment from the production.
In his post, James Gunn reflected on the production process and the team behind the next Superman movie, which is set to kick off the new DC Universe. “And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life. I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own,” Gunn wrote.
Further detailing the significance of the journey, Gunn added, “Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set – and for that I am forever grateful.” The DC Studios co-head also noted that the photo shared was taken during their first week of shooting in Svalbard, Norway.
