Joe Gorga is being sued for allegedly failing to pay his former attorney, Alan Trembulak, for the services he conducted amid a $6 million commercial real estate deal.
According to recently-filed court documents, the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is “refusing” to pay the lawyer for the teleconferences he conducted, his reviewing and revising of contracts, and other services performed over a five-month period between December 2020 and May 2021.
In the attorney’s June 26 complaint, which was obtained by The U.S. Sun on June 27, Alan, who was reportedly hired by Joe in December 2020, claims Joe owes him $3,337.50 in unpaid fees.
“During the period from December 8, 2020 through May 6, 2021, the plaintiff performed legal services for the defendant in connection with the transaction. On May 14, 2021 and June 9, 2021, the plaintiff rendered itemized invoices to the defendant for services performed totaling $3,337.50,” the complaint stated. “Despite plaintiff’s demands, the defendant has failed and refused to pay any portion of the amount due.”
“Payment has been demanded and has not been made,” the document added, noting that Alan is requesting Joe also pay him interest, attorney’s fees, and other costs of the case against him.
Although it is being reported that Joe received a summons in the mail, he has not yet responded to Alan’s lawsuit.
In recent years, the RHONJ star and his wife, Melissa Gorga, have faced a number of legal issues, including a $110,000 lawsuit that accused them of failing to pay a construction company for the work they did on their new home, which they moved into in November 2022.
“The Plaintiff has attempted on multiple occasions to contact the defendants. The defendants have failed to pay the monies owed to the plaintiff for the materials that were previously provided. The defendants have failed to fulfill their obligations with the plaintiff. The defendants’ failure to do so constitutes a breach of contract,” read court documents filed by County Concrete Corporation in February.
But Joe denied all claims, stating in documents of his own, “Plaintiff’s claims are barred by fraud. Plaintiff failed to act in good faith in this transaction and is barred from recovery. The parties reached an agreement for a lesser amount than alleged and said agreement should be enforced. Defendant Gorga was and is acting in his corporate capacity and there is no basis in law for the claim against him personally.”
The Gorgas were also sued by a woman who was hurt on one of the properties they manage. But in response to the case, Joe and Melissa denied her claims and requested the lawsuit be dismissed.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast is currently on hiatus ahead of season 14.
