A new era is coming to The Voice. NBC has officially announced that Emmy Award-winning actress, singer and television personality Keke Palmer will host The Voice: Celebrity, the franchise’s newest spinoff and the first time a version of the long-running competition series will feature celebrity contestants instead of undiscovered artists.
The announcement initially sparked confusion among fans, with many wondering whether longtime host Carson Daly was leaving The Voice after three decades at the helm. However, Daly quickly clarified that he isn’t saying goodbye to the franchise; he’ll continue hosting the flagship series while also serving as a producer on the celebrity edition.
For Palmer, the new role feels like a natural next step. Over the past several years, she’s become one of entertainment’s most versatile personalities, effortlessly moving between acting, music, comedy and live television. Whether hosting award shows, leading NBC’s Password, or starring in critically acclaimed films, Palmer has built a reputation for quick wit, infectious energy and an ability to connect with audiences.
Those qualities should serve her well as she guides a cast of celebrity contestants through blind auditions, performances and eliminations in a reimagined version of one of television’s biggest competition franchises.
The celebrity edition also introduces an all-new coaching lineup, featuring Queen Latifah, Joe Jonas, and returning coach Riley Green. Contestants will come from across entertainment, sports, comedy and social media as they compete for the inaugural celebrity championship.
Meanwhile, fans of the original format won’t have to wait long for its return. Season 30 premieres this fall with Carson Daly continuing as host alongside coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
For NBC, the celebrity edition represents the biggest evolution of The Voice since the series debuted in 2011. Rather than replacing the original show, The Voice: Celebrity expands the franchise with a fresh format designed to bring familiar faces into the iconic red chairs while keeping the music at the center of the competition.
