Liberation Weekend announces 2026 lineup

Liberation Weekend has announced the lineup for its 2026 edition, Liberation Weekend II, happening on April 24-26 at The Black Cat. The Washington, D.C. festival, which is in its second year, will continue to raise funds for trans liberation and mutual aid, with all proceeds donated to the Gender Liberation Movement and No More Dysphoria. For this year’s edition, the lineup includes Laura Jane Grace, illuminati hotties, Pool Kids, AP’s 2026 rising artist MX LONELY, and more.

The festival is organized by D.C. punks Ekko Astral as a means to support the transgender community against discrimination. “We cannot rely on institutions to save us. We can only rely on ourselves and the community we have to fight for trans America — and that now includes throwing a badass three-day benefit music festival,” vocalist Jael Holzman says. “Let this incredible lineup be seen as a way of using art as a cultural battering ram against the people trying to erase us.”

In addition to the lineup, day parties and afterparties will occur at Transmission. “To be a recipient this year feels like a special honor, alongside Gender Liberation Movement, and I am so ecstatic to be able to perform with my band Hit Like a Girl,” Nic Maroulis, founder of No More Dysphoria and member of Hit Like a Girl, says. “What the Ekko Astral team and the D.C. community are doing here is really powerful, and I hope inspires more mobilization in other cities and communities.”
