Ever wonder what it would be like to have dinner with a celebrity? Well, now you can! We attended the opening of The Hollywood Rooftop Bar & Restaurant at Madame Tussauds.
For the first time in nearly 100 years, Madame Tussauds is adding a dining experience! The last time a Madame Tussauds wax museum (owned by Merlin Entertainments) opened a restaurant was in 1928 at its original location in London.
Dining amongst the famed waxes stars like Zendaya, Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith and legends James Dean and Marilyn Monroe was certainly an experience! Perched high above the world-renowned Walk of Fame in Hollywood, it is one of the few rooftop dining destinations to draw locals and visitors alike.
Matching the caliber of the A-List experience were the cocktails and food! We tried the ahi nachos and flatbread appetizer and the steak tacos and gnocchi entrees which did not disappoint. For dessert we opted for the “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” Cheesecake: a mixed berry compote with whipped cream, topped with edible diamonds. I knew my girl Marilyn would approve! The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Shirlie Belloso who told us “Every dish is a piece of the Hollywood story, meant to be savored and shared.”
The the new dining experience offers a taste of Madame Tussauds world famous wax artistry, with no attraction admission required, but of course guests can stay and immerse themselves in the full museum. To plan your visit, book at www.hollywoodrooftopbar.com.
