This is heartbreaking.
Quad Webb is mourning the loss of her beloved 3-year-old great-niece, Aryanna “Ari” Rice, who tragically drowned in her pool on July 7.
According to a police report obtained by WSB-TV Channel 2 Atlanta on Monday, officers arrived at the Married to Medicine star’s house in Marietta, Georgia earlier this month. Speaking to police, two men said they were in the pool for about two hours from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening before getting out and ordering pizza. They then went inside to hang out for a bit and when they went back downstairs, they noticed what they thought was a doll in the pool. Upon closer inspection, they realized it was the daughter of Tamica Webb and called 911.

Ari was taken to a local hospital where she was ultimately pronounced dead. It is unclear if Quad was at home at the time, though cops spoke with the child’s grandmother, Mary Louise Cox, who said the last time she saw Ari was with her daughter Quadryyah, but she couldn’t remember what time. The drowning was listed as a tragic accident on the police report. In a statement to TMZ, a rep for the reality star mourned:
“Quad Webb and family have suffered the loss of two beloved family members, in separate occasions, in just one week. This has been an incredibly challenging experience for the entire family. Your understanding and support are deeply valued.”
They added:
“In this trying time, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown by the public, fans and media. We kindly request much-needed privacy during this period of mourning as Quad is taking time to grieve with her family.”
We cannot imagine how difficult of a time this must be for her and her family. In April, Quad took to Instagram to celebrate her loved one’s birthday by sharing a series of photos. The two had an incredibly close bond — so close, some fans wondered if she had adopted Aryanna. In 2020, Quad told The Daily Dish that she was just “in a supportive role for Ari” but was not her mother.
We are sending our condolences to the entire family as they mourn this tragedy. May both family members rest in peace.
