Like when she portrayed Merritt Monaco in The Perfect Couple.
You could also recognize her as Violet in Drop.
Perhaps you best know her as Devon DeWitt in Sirens.
Or, it might have been her leading role as Daphne Sullivan in Season 2 of The White Lotus.
Wherever you might know her from, I am here today to talk about when Meghann Fahy was cast as Sutton Brady in The Bold Type. The show debuted in June 2017 and aired for five seasons before ending in June 2021.
Sutton, aka “Red,” is a small-town girl who started as an assistant at Scarlet, an iconic magazine. Her hard-working hustler attitude and eye for a killer outfit eventually led her to become a fashion stylist for the magazine, working closely with Oliver every step of the way.
Sutton *always* had her ride-or-die girls by her side, no matter what was going on. From her pursuit of working in fashion to her wedding day, Jane (played by Katie Stevens) and Kat (played by Aisha Dee) never missed a moment. Honestly, this trio was the definition of #friendshipgoals, and still are all these years later.
Outside of that, Sutton developed an on-and-off again relationship with Richard Hunter (played by Sam Page). They initially keep things hush-hush since he works as an in-house attorney for the publishing company, but it eventually blooms into one of those forever love stories. While they endure some painful bumps, they always find a way back to each other. I could cry just thinking about it, low-key.
Meghann’s performance in The Bold Type was consistently raw and so relatable. From being a girl’s girl to navigating the ups and downs of being a 20-something, the show wouldn’t have been the same without her. And I think about this all of the time.
And while The Bold Type might not be what most people remember her for, I am here today to yell from the rooftops that her performance in this iconic series from 2017 is DEFINITELY WORTH REMEMBERING!
If you watched her on The Bold Type, drop your favorite scene or one-liner below. I would love to go down memory lane with you all.
