Iconic singer Michael Bolton has been open about his battle with brain cancer.
The American star, 72, has glioblastoma, a type of invasive cancer, and has said in a new interview with People magazine that he’s determined to fight as long as he can for the sake of himself and his family.
“I want to keep going. I feel there’s still a lot to do on the fight side,” he told the publication as he posed with his daughters and grandchildren.

“I got a title for a song: ‘Ain’t Going Down Without a Fight.‘”
His daughter Taryn added that her father has the full support of his family amid his battle and said: “We’re in this together, and that’s it.”
According to the publication, the hitmaker has undergone two brain surgeries amid his battle.

In January 2024, the When a Man Loves a Woman hitmaker shared a message to fans, wishing them a happy New Year and sharing his brain tumour diagnosis.
“I also want to share that 2023 ended up presenting me with some very unexpected challenges.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.
“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success.
“I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.

“For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring.”
He added that he was “beyond grateful” for the support from his loyal fan base over the years and was keeping their messages “in his heart”.
Legends of the music world, then and now
The star, who hails from Connecticut, started singing as a team and first recorded music in the mid 1970s.
He is known for hits including How Am I Supposed to Live Without You and To Love Somebody.
