Miley Cyrus just released an extremely personal AMA for The New York Times, and people are reacting in a plethora of ways. Time flew while the interview was being click-clicked by Philip Montgomery. This interview really did give rise to some emotional responses from fans watching her evolve through transition ever since the Hannah Montana years. Some people swear it was the rawest interview she’s ever done; while some others are simply here to witness the drama.

Hence from her childhood famous times to present-day mental and creative circumstances, this interview set the entire facade wide open in these arenas. One of the fans even became so emotional that she went on saying, “I cried a lot in this… it’s crazy to confront your childhood like this. That is what you represent. 20 years of life, where you were the soundtrack.” That hit hard. One other user said “all the respect!” out of admiration about how she is wise beyond her years, while somebody really went there and said this new album is “a flop BTW,” which…please.
Many identified with her on the whole journey of therapy and self-discovery. One commenter states, “Had therapy myself and can relate to things making more sense! You got your head on your shoulders now.” Apparently, Miley’s being open about mental health resonates with persons with similar experiences.
But, being the Internet, rogue questions went flying around as well. One inquired if she would visit the Netherlands to smoke a joint (lol), and another one wished to get to know about voice acting gigs (??). A third started dropping serious deep lines about “truth wearing no disguise.” It’s just bizarre from sublime to ridiculous.
The most wholesome moments were when the fans called her Mother (Gen Z for icon, apparently) and thanked her for the new album. “Thank you for giving us the album of the year Mother,” said a fan with fire emojis. Another tagged the interview as, “Like being on the phone with an old friend.” That is the kind of bond every artist wants to share.
All un-making, Miley remains booked and busy – there are requests for concert dates in Florida and Vancouver. Woman can’t catch a break! But seriously, this interview appears to have struck at the very core, revealing yet another angle of an artist who has been reinventing herself publicly for two decades now. For the music, for the drama, or just to watch the Miley show, one thing is very clear: the evolution is still continuing.

The kind of reaction she got means that people still care about her story, although with messy comments here and there. Internet-Pro really is unmatched when it comes to reacting to celebrity content. Miley live her entire life under the Spotlight, and moments like these are what have kept her in the spotlight – for being real, even when it is awkward. Either way, it’s a conversation worth having.
