Natalie Portman was glowing as she shared an update on her third pregnancy with a stunning photo of her growing baby bump. The 45-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the snap, which saw her standing on a balcony in Paris while cradling her baby bump, wearing an oversized blue button-up shirt and gold necklace.
Natalie bowed her head in the shot, her brunette bob falling around her face, as she placed her hands on her belly. “Counting the days until we meet you,” she wrote in the caption, as her famous friends rushed to the comment section to share in her joy.
Actress Julianne Moore wrote: “Beautiful,” while Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Garner commented a series of heart emojis, and Macaulay Culkin added: “Gee whiz.”
Baby on board
Natalie will welcome her baby with her partner, Tanguy Destable, who has two children of his own from a previous relationship.
The Star Wars actress shares her two older kids, Aleph, 15, and Amalia, nine, with her ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied, whom she separated from in July 2023. She was first linked to Tanguy, a French musician, in March 2025, and revealed they were expecting a child together in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in April 2026.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she shared at the time. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
On being pregnant in her 40s
Natalie added that she was all too aware of the challenges of fertility, particularly as her father was a fertility doctor. “I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” she explained.
“I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing. And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
Natalie noted that as this was likely her last pregnancy, she wanted to “cherish every moment”.
The Black Swan star shared that she had “more energy than I thought I might” during the pregnancy, and that it felt similar to her first two. She explained that she was staying fit and healthy by doing Gyrotonics, swimming and spending time with her kids, “which is always the best”.
Third time around
Natalie, who lives with her family in Paris, noted that she was prepared to make mistakes when raising her little one, but was leaning on her parenting experience for the third time around.
“I think maybe just having done it twice before…I read so many books the first time, and now I’m like, ‘Oh, we know what to do.’ It’s okay. You figure it out,” she said.
“We’re going to make lots of mistakes, no matter how hard we try. And also, we’re going to do a lot right without having to do research. I feel like if you’re just present and loving, that’s the best thing possible.”
