On Sunday night, the shows lined up were The Rehearsal, another episode of mind-boggling stickup, with Nathan Fielder. The brand-new episode did much to excite the audience with cheers, bafflement, amazement, and outright acclaim-the greater half for bringing a character called Sully into existence. The very official HBO Instagram captioned the post: “Bring Sully to Life,” but the comment section paints quite a different picture.

User @jordankofe said the episode was ‘iconic’ and that the show should be renewed for ‘ten more seasons.’ @michaelshea__ concurred: “A masterpiece. I wonder if anyone else could ever pull off something this genius.” On the other side of it, @jgarretson89 summed it down: The most unhinged episode in the history of TV,’ which honestly feels like an understatement given the situation.
Apparently, another scene showed Sully drinking fake breast milk from the staged mom, and that was when @erikmontoya said they “couldn’t stop laughing.” @davidarkay said they were “overcome with immense chills,” which shows how different people’s responses can be to Fielder’s work, while @like_a_moss_89 just wants to see the real Sully reacting to all this chaos. Same.
Some viewers went so far as to say what @steelydoz did, calling it ‘one of the most important shows ever made,’ as @vegasryan suggested, urging HBO to just give Nathan Fielder a blank check. That may not be such a bad idea with just how much this episode turned people’s brains inside out.
But, of course, not everyone really thought that way. @lavacakes called the show “pure horror now.” Which is fair: Fielder has always tread a thin line between comedy and existential dread and this episode seems to have pushed that balance into the far realm.

Loved it, disturbed by it, or are you still trying to process what you’ve watched? One thing’s for certain: ‘The Rehearsal’ is not just a show; it’s an experience. And if the views are this intense right now, just imagine what Fielder is cooking up for the next episode. Maybe we will finally get the much-anticipated Sully reaction video. Or something so much weirder. At this point, nothing would shock anyone.
