Next year’s Marvel slate holds the most anticipated films out of the studio in years. Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday promise to shake up the MCU and bring fans some long-awaited team-ups and storytelling that we’ve been hoping for.
While Spider-Man just started shooting, and we’ve gotten some cool on-set photos, Doomsday has actually wrapped shooting despite it’s later release date, as the Russo Brothers are gearing up to shoot the film’s sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, which will release in 2027. So when can we expect to see something from the next Avengers film?
According to a new rumor from industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is reportedly planning to attach a first look at Avengers: Doomsday to the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash. The James Cameron directed third film in his Avatar franchise arrives in US theaters on December 19, 2025.
There’s been no official confirmation from Marvel or 20th Century Studios that this is happening at this time, so as usual, this should only be treated as a rumor for now.
The star-studded cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor.
It also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and David Harbour as Red Guardian.
We’re not done yet, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau/Gambit, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
We are still waiting for more casting to be confirmed. Marvel Studios has officially wrapped production on the highly anticipated film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, with a release date set for December 18, 2026. The follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, is slated for December 17, 2027.
