Nicole Kidman is an actress with a plethora of awards to her name.
She’s portrayed many memorable and dare we say iconic on-screen romances over her years in Hollywood, from Moulin Rouge to her more recent erotic thriller Babygirl.
In real life, she’s been married for nearly two decades to country music star, Keith Urban.

On June 20, 2025, she’ll be celebrating her 58th birthday. And just days later, it’s her 19th wedding anniversary – a busy week for the star all around.
But before meeting her longtime husband, Kidman was linked to some very famous names in Hollywood.

Tom Burlinson
When she was a teenager, Kidman reportedly dated her co-star Tom Burlinson.
The pair met on the set of the 1986 film, Windrider.
Canadian-born Australian actor Burlinson is best known for The Man from Snowy River.
The pair reportedly went on to date for three years.
Tom Cruise
It seems like another lifetime ago, but Kidman was famously first married to Tom Cruise.
The former couple first met as co-stars on the set of the 1990 film Days of Thunder.
They tied the knot the same year the movie came out.
During their more than a decade-long marriage, they adopted two children together: daughter Isabella Jane and son Connor Anthony.

But in 2001, they decided to call it quits after 11 years.
Cruise filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
“He was huge; still is. To me, he was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge,” she told Ladies’ Home Journal in 2006.
“But he was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him.”
After their divorce, a now-viral photo emerged that appeared to show Kidman celebrating.
However, in a 2024 interview with British GQ magazine, the actress set the record straight: “That was not me; that was from a film, that wasn’t real life. I know that image.”
In May 2025, Cruise offered a rare comment about his ex.
Speaking to the Independent, Cruise recalled being the one to recommend Kidman to the late director Stanley Kubrick for their 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, calling her a “great actress”.

Kidman dated rocker Lenny Kravitz between 2003 and 2004.
Cruise was the one to spill the beans on Kidman’s relationship with Kravitz in 2003, confirming their relationship during a TV interview with Larry King on CNN.
Kidman and Kravitz had been rumoured to be engaged before calling it quits in 2004.
Years later, she worked with his daughter Zoë Kravitz on Big Little Lies.
”I hadn’t seen her in a long time before Big Little Lies, but there was a point where we were all kind of living together,” Zoë told The Edit in 2017 as per People.
“I was about 13, and she would take me to see movies; she was so nice to me.”
In another interview with The Edit, Kidman said she already knew her Big Little Lies co-star “because I was engaged to her father,” confirming long speculation she had been engaged to the musician in the early noughties.
“It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy.”

Keith Urban
Kidman has been married to singer Keith Urban for nearly two decades.
The couple’s love story first began in 2005 when they met at the annual G’Day LA event.
They exchanged numbers. But it had taken Urban four months to call.
“I remember thinking, ‘I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me’,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017.
Urban explained in 2018 on Interview he “wasn’t in a very healthy place” at the time.

“I’d never have thought she’d see anything in a guy like me,” he admitted.
“But at some point I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.”
A year after they met, Kidman and Urban tied the knot in Sydney in June 2006.
They have now been married for 18 years and share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14.
And it seems they’re still going strong.
While accepting an award during the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2025, Urban gave a special shoutout to his wife.
“I want to thank the ACM Academy for this and my wife, Nicole Mary, who’s here tonight,” he said.
“I love you, baby girl.”
