Nightwing & Batgirl’s Love Story Reaches the Next Level, As Their Real-Life Cosplayers Announce Engagement

Finally, fans are going to get the Nightwing and Batgirl wedding they have been waiting years for – and in real life, too. While DC continually drags its heels with one of its fan-favorite couples, at least something is happening of substance in the real world as two cosplayers have just celebrated their engagement – as Nightwing and Batgirl.

In a post by ryansimsphotography on Instagram, Nightwing and Batgirl are seen in brilliant cosplaying form as they fight the Court of Owls. This image is made even better with the announcement that these two cosplayers are now engaged in real life.

zack_attack_cosplay and texthemess are both cosplayers that have quite a following on Instagram. But with this latest announcement, they have made more than just their own dreams come true.

DC Trolled Fans With a Fake Nightwing and Batgirl Wedding

It’s been teased many times, but it doesn’t look like DC is going to be giving fans a Nightwing and Batgirl wedding in the near future. Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo even trolled fans in Nightwing #98 by having Nite-Mite tease a sudden wedding between the two. In the modern continuity, Nightwing has enough on his hands with becoming a leader on par with Batman, and in another universe, Batgirl has fashioned herself Queen of the Vampires. If fans want to believe in real love, they might have to look up from the page – and into the real world of DC cosplayers.

Batgirl Cosplayer Midnights as Nightwing’s Other Romance

Kenzie Rae, otherwise known on Instagram as texthemess, has a long history of cosplaying DC characters, and she has been getting some help with the costumes from her partner and now fiancé, zack_attack_cosplay. They have been working together for some time and dating for just as long. It’s almost like fans can imagine Nightwing and Batgirl helping each other upgrade their own suits. Of course, Nightwing sows Batgirl’s suits – Kenzie and Zack have practically made that canon.

Zack and Kenzie are a cosplay power couple, and they are giving Nightwing and Batgirl the happy ending they deserve. Even if DC won’t do it, it’s nice that cosplayers are doing this Batgirl/Nightwing romance justice. At the end of the day, they are two humans in love, but the symbols they have decided to wear mean a lot to DC fans. It’s nice to know that in at least one universe, Batgirl and Nightwing end up together.
