The GRAMMY Museum is set to celebrate one of music’s most distinctive voices this spring, as Norah Jones will receive the prestigious Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award at the 2026 GRAMMY Hall of Fame Gala.
The event takes place on May 8 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, bringing together artists, industry leaders, and music fans for an evening honoring timeless recordings and influential careers.
Named after the legendary Ray Charles, the Architect of Sound Award recognizes artists whose work transcends genres and leaves a lasting cultural impact. For Jones, whose career has seamlessly blended jazz, pop, soul, and country, the honor reflects more than two decades of artistry defined by emotional depth and unmistakable musicianship.
“I’m so honored to receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award,” Jones shared. “Ray Charles was my musical hero… To be recognized in connection with his legacy… is special for me.”

In addition to receiving the award, Jones will also take the stage for a special live performance during the gala, which is expected to feature additional musical moments from artists to be announced.
The evening will also spotlight the 2026 class of GRAMMY Hall of Fame inductees, celebrating recordings that have made a lasting impact on music history. This year’s selections span nearly a century, including iconic works such as All Eyez On Me by 2Pac, Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson, and OK Computer by Radiohead, alongside influential recordings from artists like Selena, Funkadelic, and Nick Drake.
Adding to the evening’s honors, Warner Records will be recognized as the 2026 Label Honoree for its enduring contributions to recorded music and its role in shaping generations of artists.
Returning to host the ceremony is veteran journalist Anthony Mason, with the event produced by longtime GRAMMY Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich and a team of industry veterans.
As one of the music industry’s most respected celebrations of legacy and innovation, the GRAMMY Hall of Fame Gala continues to bridge past and present — honoring the recordings that shaped culture while recognizing the artists who continue to redefine it. With Norah Jones at the center of this year’s celebration, the 2026 event promises an evening of reflection, reverence, and unforgettable music.
