The Asylum is back with another dumb low-budget sci-fi spectacle, and this time the studio has set its sights on alien horror with Alien Disclosure Day.
A trailer has been released for the upcoming movie, which arrives only two weeks before Steven Spielberg‘s highly anticipated Disclosure Day hits theaters.
While the title may sound like it’s borrowing some extraterrestrial intrigue from Spielberg’s project, the footage itself feels much closer in spirit to Alien. The trailer follows a mining crew returning to Earth after a mission in deep space, only to discover they’ve brought something horrifying back with them.
According to the official synopsis: “A deep space mining ship returns to Earth carrying deadly alien stowaways. The aliens immediately launch a brutal attack on Earth. Now humanity must fight back, board the vessel, and destroy it before the planet is lost forever.”
The trailer showcases the crew’s communications being disrupted by a mysterious alien anomaly before hostile creatures begin tearing through the ship. As the body count rises, survivors find themselves trapped with deadly monsters stalking them through the corridors.
The movie’s full description from The Asylum reads: “The U.S. sends miners to excavate a distant planet. As they return, they unknowingly pick up alien stowaways. The ship loses communication with Earth, and a response team is sent to board the ship.
“Before dying, the team sends a message saying the ship is infested with aliens. Shortly after, escape pods land on Earth. Aliens exit and begin a human killing spree.
“The infested ship cannot be shot down, so a second response team boards it instead. Now, they must figure out how to self-destruct the ship and rescue any survivors before humanity is completely wiped out.”
It’s exactly the kind of over-the-top premise The Asylum has built its reputation on over the years. The production company is best known for turning out mockbusters and creature features such as Sharknado, Immortal Combat, Shark Trash, Master of the Universe, and many stupid movies.
Alien Disclosure Day is directed by Adrian Avila, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gabriel Avila. Adrian Avila previously worked on other Asylum productions including Airplane 2025 and Alien: Rubicon.
The cast includes Matthew Gademske, Eugenia Gonzales, Krymis J Fernando, Robert Alkire II, Montel Bush, Jerry Ferrell, Sam Little, Grace Nix, Sunami Rodriguez, Courtney Marie Simpson, and Davon Smith.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of The Asylum’s ridiculous brand of filmmaking or you’re simply curious to see an alien invasion movie packed with creatures, explosions, and space-bound carnage, Alien Disclosure Day looks ready to deliver exactly what audiences expect from the studio.
Alien Disclosure Day is now available to rent or purchase on digital platforms.
