Not because it’s a bad movie, but because it is overhyped, and people who touted it as their favorite made me think they have no perspective to recommend movies to customers. Yes, I was super judgy, but ‘Shawshank is my favorite movie’ makes me think of boring straight entitled white boys who mostly watch movies made for them, by other bros just like them with nearly all white male casts.”
