Ozzfest Rising Again For Three 2027 Dates

Ozzfest will carry Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy into a new era with three dates across the U.K., U.S. and Mexico in 2027. The traveling metal festival founded by the kate Ozzy and his wife/manager Sharon Osbourne more than 30 years ago will launch its comeback July 10 at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes, U.K., before returning to the U.S. on Sept. 11 at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Ca.

Then, on Sept. 18, it will make its first-ever appearance in Mexico, at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. “Ozzy was the first to launch his own traveling metal festival,” Sharon Osbourne says. “And Ozzfest will always remain an important part of Ozzy’s legacy.”

Promoted by Live Nation, the 2027 edition will feature lineups curated by Sharon, with artists to be announced in the coming months. The San Bernardino date carries particular historical resonance: Glen Helen was the site of the inaugural Ozzfest in 1996, the year the festival began establishing itself as a major touring platform for hard rock and metal acts. The event’s last edition was a New Year’s Eve 2018 show at the Forum in Los Angeles, headlined by Ozzy.

The traveling circus of bolted youth and nü metal known as Ozzfest arose from the ashes of a less-than-triumphant meeting between the Osbournes and a group of Lollapalooza organizers in 1995. Despite the fact that almost every heavy band of the ’90s owed a debt of influence to Black Sabbath, the Lollapalooza folks were unwilling, according to Mrs. Osbourne, to give Ozzy a slot on their main stage. So the Osbournes simply started their own touring extravaganza.

At the time, Ozzy said, “What I want to do, especially on the second stage, is give an unknown band a springboard, a band that wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to play in front of that many people. I love passing the torch to the next generation.”

The revival comes in the wake of Ozzy’s death and his final performance at the July 2025 Back to the Beginning concert in his hometown of Birmingham, England, where the original Black Sabbath lineup reunited for the first time in more than two decades. The historic farewell is being preserved in a concert film and soundtrack collection due Dec. 11, documenting the event that brought together Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera and other heavyweights to celebrate the Prince of Darkness.
