Jack Osbourne has given an update on his mum, Sharon Osbourne, following the death of his dad, Ozzy Osbourne.
In a new interview, Jack said the family was overwhelmed with the “outpour of love” following the Black Sabbath frontman’s death on July 22 at the age of 76.
“None of us expected it to be like this, with that outpour of love,” the 39-year-old told ABC America’s Chris Connelly.
When asked how his mum – who was married to his dad for 43 years – is coping he said he has a standard response.
“You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK’,” he said.
“I know she feels the love … Every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won’t be there, and what will that be like. It’s just a part of being human. We just didn’t think of it. It was a different weight to it.”
Ozzy died just weeks after his last concert and just 48 hours after he finished his memoir, Last Rites.

The book, which his family is now promoting in his absence, looks at his decades in the music industry and his chaotic life.
Jack fought back tears as he discussed the book, admitting some parts were hard to read.
“I think the last chapter’s the hardest,” he said.
“He was happy. He was in such a good mood.”
Jack said in hindsight the concert “kind of was a living wake if you think about it”.
“He got to say goodbye to everyone,” he said.
In his final years, Ozzy’s health took a turn, especially after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019. But his family said in his final days, he seemed fine.
Thousands of Black Sabbath fans turned out in July to pay their respects to Ozzy as his hearse made its way through the streets of Birmingham before the family held a private funeral.
That marked the first and only time Sharon has been seen in public since her husband’s death.

In September, the popular reality TV personality took to Instagram to thank fans for their support and praised her family.
“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she wrote at the time.
“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”
