“You’re officially out of trouble now. Don’t go doing something stupid.” Imprint FIlms is preparing to drop their own special edition limited SteelBook 4K UHD re-release of Quentin Tarantino’s third feature titled Jackie Brown from 1997. This was his long-awaited follow-up to Pulp Fiction, released three years after in 1997 (it actually hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day back in late 1997). What do a sexy stewardess, a street-tough gun runner, a lonely bail bondsman, a shifty ex-con, an earnest federal agent, and a stoned-out beach bunny have in common? They’re six players on the trail of half a million dollars in cash. Starring Pam Grier as the titular “Jackie Brown” and featuring a juggernaut ensemble cast with Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and Robert De Niro, Tarantino’s screenplay was based on Elmore Leonard’s 1992 novel “Rum Punch” – his only script based on other work. Jackie Brown pays homage to 1970s blaxploitation films, particularly Coffy and Foxy Brown, both of which also starred Grier. It’s not exactly Tarantino’s best film, but it has many supporters who still consider it one of his best in his filmography. This new 4K SteelBook is from Australia – it was released on 4K Blu-ray in the US last year.
Here’s the new 4K UHD re-release of Quentin Tarantino’s film Jackie Brown, direct from YouTube:

Jackie supplements her meager income as a stewardess by smuggling cash into the U.S. for the gunrunner Ordell Robbie—until the day an ATF agent and an L.A. cop bust her at the airport. The cops pressure her to help them bring down Ordell, threatening prison if she refuses. With a sympathetic bail bondsman, who understands her restlessness only too well, Jackie arrives at a bold almost foolhardy plan to play off these opposing forces against each other. Matters are complicated by Ordell’s other confederates, Louis Gara and Melanie Ralston, who also have agendas of their own. By appearing to cooperate with both sides, Jackie attempts to outfox them both and walk away with a half-million-dollar payday! Jackie Brown is written and directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, his third film at the time after Pulp Fiction (1994) and before making Kill Bill 1 (2003) & Kill Bill 2 (2004). Based on “Rum Punch” novel by Elmore Leonard. Produced by Lawrence Bender. This first opened in theaters in December 1997 earning $74.7 million at the box office. It was also released on 4K Blu-ray in the US last year. Imprint Films sends Jackie Brown out as a 4K UHD SteelBook in Australia starting January 2027 – head over to their website.
