Despite the fact that it almost came out 10 years ago, there are still plenty of players who log in all the time to enjoy the wonders of Red Dead Redemption 2. As big as the single-player is, it would be no surprise if you’ve experienced everything it has to offer at this point.
That’s where Red Dead Online comes into the equation, and Rockstar have been quite diligent about continuing to support the multiplayer modes in the absence of getting us any single-player DLC. Now, their latest event is live, and there are plenty of free items you can pick up for your cowboy or cowgirl.
Over on the official Rockstar website you can find the breakdown for the latest Red Dead Online event, with the focus this time around heavily on the moonshining industry.
The most time sensitive of those is the weekly Moonshiner weekly reward which you get for completing a Moonshiner Sale. Until September 14, you can pick up the “This Guy” emote, which will be replaced by the Black Woodland Gloves from the 15th.
You can also get triple rewards on Moonshiner Story Missions, meaning 3X RDO$, Role XP, and XP for the whole month of September. Meanwhile, winning the Featured Series will earn you the tan Porter Jacket, while completing any three Daily Challenges rewards the black and red Carbow Double Bandolier.
You can also get 3X RDO$ and XP for helping out in Free Roam Missions this month, as well as the same rewards for Featured Series (with Lemoyne being the choice until September 14, when it will be replaced by Hardcore Last Stand).
The community-inspired outfit is also live now and can be claimed for free from the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue through October 5. The full list of items included in that is as follows:
- Opulent Vest
- Doily Shirtwaist (Female) or Everyday Shirt (Male)
- Folded String Tie
- Bandito Pants
- Worn Roper Boots
You can even get worthwhile rewards simply by logging in and playing the game in any capacity, as Moonshiners will receive the Emerald Ranch and Falls Moonshiner Bar Photographs for playing this month. Level 50 Gunslingers can also pick up the Zapatero Outfit and the Golden Spirit Buckle simply for playing the game.
The future of the franchise is considerably more up in the air than fans would like right now. The focus for Rockstar for the time being is understandably on GTA VI, but given that Red Dead Redemption was only ever made to be a two-part story, there might not be a third game coming down the pipeline. That said, it remains a hugely successful IP, and they would be remiss to move on from it entirely purely from a business perspective, though don’t expect to hear anything from the horse’s mouth anytime soon.
