Erika Jayne reacted to claims of doing Kyle Richards‘ dirty work on Thursday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she spoke of her personal drama with Dorit Kemsley, 49, explained what she meant when she said Paul “PK” Kemsley, 58, may not have been wrong, and revealed how Kyle, 57, went too far with Dorit during filming on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15, Erika, 54, hinted she wouldn’t be reading Dorit’s upcoming book and shared how her son, Tommy Zizzo, feels about her boyfriend, John “Shrek” McPhee.
“I do my own work. I’ve always been independent,” Erika declared on the April 16 episode of WWHL, explaining, “Kyle and I have known [Dorit] the longest. We’re trying to tell her something.”
Although Erika admitted that she didn’t know whether Kyle and Dorit would be able to mend their relationship since it’s “very deep, very layered, and a lot of it’s unspoken,” she clarified that what she had going on with Dorit was “different.”
“I’m very hurt and I would like to speak to her privately, and I also don’t want to give anything away that we talked about at the reunion,” she teased.
As for her comment about PK, Erika explained that she was referencing a season 14 statement he made at a restaurant in which he told his estranged wife, “If the server came over and we spoke to the server how we speak to each other, we’d be thrown out of this restaurant.”
“That’s what I’m referring to,” she stated.
She then hinted that there was more to the story of how Dorit and PK met.
After being asked what she most wanted to ask PK about Dorit, Erika replied, “How they really met.”
“I don’t know. I’m just speculating … [But] they have called me the oracle,” she pointed out, citing her prediction that the couple would split.
While both she and Kyle were on the outs with Dorit throughout season 15, Erika admitted that she did think Kyle crossed a line at one point.
“I do think Kyle has genuine concern, but I think that Kyle kept pushing, and at some point, Dorit wasn’t listening, so my advice to her was to stop. It was too much,” she shared.
Then speaking of Dorit’s book, Erika said, “I hope the book is as good as the cover,” and suggested she wouldn’t be reading it.
“I’m going to buy it, but reading it’s a whole other thing,” she explained.
As for Dorit’s book party, Erika said she never considered arriving late to prove a point.
“I just wanted to know if she was late to her own party because that would show priority. You know what I’m saying? Was she on time for her book party? No, I never considered showing up,” she confirmed.
When asked how her son Tommy was doing, and what he thought of John, Erika replied, “My son is well … he was just at my house the other day. The three of us were eating, we were grilling. He loves John. Oh yeah. That’s that whole law enforcement thing.”
Looking back on her hard moments on the show, Erika said that some things were “really hard” and “really painful” to relive.
“I’ve done a lot of work on myself, and I self-reflect. I don’t know, I could spend an hour asking what is worth it,” she confessed.
Erika then recalled how Yolanda Hadid, 62, got her on the show.
“I was surprised that I ever was on, and now it’s been 10 years. Yolanda broke my entire housewives career,” she shared. “I have not spoken with her in years, and I really should reconnect with her.”
Also on the live broadcast, Erika reflected on her decision to open up about her past experience with domestic abuse.
“I felt like sharing it because it was the right moment, it was with [Denise Richards], she had gone through the same thing, honestly, everything is a little different, but that was the right moment, and the response has been really great. So thank you,” she stated.
That said, Erika was so scared about revealing the information on RHOBH that she actually considered quitting.
“I wanted to quit the show. I think it was the totality of everything that has happened to me over the last six years, and then that. It was so damn heavy. And it was just, to talk about it was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I can’t live through this any longer.’ So I really just threw my hands up,” she admitted.
Additionally, Erika was worried about a response from her abuser.
“Oh, sure. Because when you do things like that, if someone will abuse under certain circumstances, they’ll do it again,” she shared.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Erika was asked about her friendship with Rachel Zoe, 54, and if it bothered her that Rachel was so Team Dorit amid her first season on the series.
“My relationship is great and no it doesn’t bother me and I’ll tell you why: Because when you’re coming into a new group of friends, it’s totally acceptable to be really friendly with everybody. You’re trying to get to know people,” she reasoned. “I’ve known Dorit for, as I pointed out, nine years. So we have a lot of history. It’s different. I’m not surprised at any friendships in this group because that’s the way it goes. People connect on different levels, and that’s okay.”
As for her newfound friendship with Sutton, Erika said she was “glad” they were able to make a turnaround.
“I want smooth friendships. I want peace in my life. I’ve been through a lot, so to be able to have a nice exchange with Sutton, I’m grateful for that,” she shared.
Then, as the episode concluded, Erika confirmed her $25 million trial is set to begin in May.
“That’s all I can say,” she explained.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 reunion begins next Thursday, April 23, at 8/7c on Bravo.
