Shannon Beador denied claims of a “meltdown” at The Quiet Woman while appearing on comedian Jamie Kennedy‘s podcast last week.
After Tamra Judge, 58, accused her of lashing out at staff after the venue failed to comp a $514 bill following a dinner with Andy Cohen, 58, and members of the Real Housewives of Orange County cast, Shannon, 62, suggested the story was “exaggerated.” But she did admit to being “bothered” by the situation, and she vowed to take a break from the restaurant.
“It’s a completely exaggerated story,” Shannon insisted on the July 23 episode of Hate to Break It to Ya with Jamie Kennedy.
As RHOC fans well know, Shannon has been frequenting The Quiet Woman for years, and the restaurant has been the setting of many memorable scenes from the show. So, when Shannon arranged for the get-together with Andy and the cast, she expected to be treated as the VIPs that they were.
“It’s kind of a big deal. So when Andy asked for the bill, and they brought one, I was bothered by it. I said, ‘This is ridiculous. You have Andy Cohen here, who’s never been to Orange County, and he’s chosen your establishment … What else do you need?’” she recalled.
That said, she denied her alleged “meltdown.”
“I was bothered by it. It wasn’t like I was having a meltdown, but I let my opinion be known. I said, ‘It’s business 101. You just had Andy Cohen in here with six housewives,’” she stated, adding that The Quiet Woman should have offered the group a “free round of drinks” or “free apps.”
After noting that Andy paid the bill and left a “very big tip,” Shannon confirmed that the manager followed him out of the restaurant and vowed to “rip up the bill.” Still, she wasn’t happy with the handling of the situation.
“It should’ve been discussed prior. It should’ve been figured out because it was embarrassing to me,” she explained. “[And] it’s just time for me to take a break from that restaurant.”
As RHOC fans may have seen, Andy also spoke out about the situation after Tamra’s claims hit the web, suggesting that there was no “meltdown.”
“All I know is this: There have been a lot of stories about [how] Shannon was mad about something and something relating to the bill. I paid the bill. I was brought the bill. I happily paid the bill and left a big tip because they had been so accommodating,” he explained on SiriusXM Radio’s Andy Cohen Live. “I loved them there, and I loved our time there, and it was just great.”
“I left, and when I walked out the front door, the GM said, ‘The dinner is on us, by the way. We are ripping up the bill,’ and I said, ‘I don’t want you to do that because I want the tip. I need to tip the waiter,’ or whatever, and so we figured that out, and that’s all I know,” he added.
Shortly thereafter, Tamra doubled down, claiming that Andy wasn’t around when the apparent “meltdown” occurred.
“He wasn’t even there when it happened,” she said.
