Season seven of The Real Housewives of Miami is imminent, and one of the show’s stars, Larsa Pippen, is currently in the news thanks to her relationship with basketball player Jeff Coby. The reality star is opening up about his previous comments regarding their plans to tie the knot this year, and she’s also discussing her dating preferences. Plus, recent reports suggest Jeff may already be in the market for a ring.
Larsa, 50, was seen out with Jeff, 31, in early May, and he told the paparazzi that the two would be marrying in 2025. This is despite their short courtship. At the time, she remained silent, and most assumed he was joking about marrying Larsa so soon, especially given that Marcus Jordan, 34, pulled similar stunts when they were dating.
Now, according to Bravo, the RHOM star shared her thoughts on the potential for walking down the aisle with Jeff in 2025. Larsa told US Weekly his comments were “probably a joke.” Still, she went on to say, “I feel like I definitely do enjoy being with him. So we’ll see.”
Larsa also recently opened up about the reason behind her decision to date athletes. For context, she was famously married to Scottie Pippen. According to Larsa, “I think what I do like about athletes is the discipline.”
She continued, “I feel like most athletes are disciplined when it comes down to their regimen and how they go about their food, and how they work out and sleep well. I feel like if you’re smart and you have goals and ambitions, I like to be motivated. I want to surround myself with guys that are motivated.”
So, whether or not Jeff and Larsa end up married, she seems happy. Regarding why their connection is different from her past relationships, she revealed they have similar family values. Larsa explained, “I feel like Jeff and I are kind of the same in that way.”
She went on, “We both are traditional in a lot of ways. We both love to be around our family, and I feel like in the past I dated guys that weren’t like that, [they] didn’t necessarily care to spend time with their family [or] weren’t as close to their family as I was. So they thought that [it] was weird that I wanted to always be around my parents or my siblings.”
In related news, it seems Jeff has been shopping for a ring that will impress Larsa. According to The Sun, he said, “She tells me what she likes and what she doesn’t like,” when asked about the process. The former basketball player continued, “It’s relatively collaborative at the moment.” Regarding when he’ll pop the question, Jeff explained, “We’re both super busy at the moment. The only thing I can say is to confirm that it’s coming.”
Jeff then gushed that being with Larsa has made him “a happier person.” Still, their relationship has been an adjustment for him. He said, “The public eye can be crazy at times. You have to really hone in on protecting the household. It’s definitely interesting because normally you go out to a restaurant, but you’re not expecting a group of people outside waiting to take photos of you.”
Jeff continued, “Honestly, I think it makes us closer because we have to be cognizant of how narratives can be painted out. You really just want to do things that reflect the other person in the best light possible.”
