Erin Lichy defended her townhouse against Daisy Toye‘s critiques after last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City.
As Jessel Taank, 46, slammed Erin’s home as “old” and “weird” and Erika Hammond, 35, reacted to Daisy, 45, suggesting that she and her castmates should’ve been flown private to her private island, Moskito Island, Erin, 39, denied having rats and explained her mix-up with Daisy.
“I don’t have rats,” Erin declared on the October 27 episode of the RHONY: After Show as Daisy suggested the rodents were “in the basement.”
“You told me, you’re like, ‘Rats followed us,’” Daisy recalled.
But according to Erin, that “was a joke.”
“That’s why I withheld rent (at my former home) because I had a mouse infestation to the point where it was eating through my kitchen cabinets in my beautiful apartment that I spent money renovating,” she explained. “It was a joke.”
“How was I supposed to know?” Daisy replied. “I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god, we’re gonna have a party in the backyard at night, and there’s going to be rats.”
“Because you said there are rats in every townhouse,” Erin clapped back. “I was like, ‘Yes, I guess the rats followed me. I had mice in my Tribeca apartment, which is why I left.’”
While the rat issue was one topic discussed, Erin’s design was another.
After Sai de Silva, 45, noted that Erin was “into interior design,” Jessel asked, “Is that not the case anymore?”
“It’s like a very old brownstone,” Jessel continued, proceeding to offer a number of her own criticisms.
“I don’t like old things that look old, if that makes sense. And I don’t like windows with bars on them, hence the Alcatraz comment,” she shared. “I don’t like floors that look red … I don’t like lighting that’s like blue lighting because it makes me look unattractive. I don’t like lots of staircases with big banisters. I’m not a fan of, like, homes that are a little bit dark. I don’t like purple couches. I don’t like weird artwork because I think it would scare me if I was at the house by myself at night.”
At another moment of the RHONY: After Show, Erika reacted to Daisy’s suggestion that she should’ve flown her and the rest of the cast private to her island.
“Why the f*ck would I fly them private? That is the craziest ask ever,” Erika noted. “I do normally fly private, but I didn’t feel the need to fly with them private … My best friends would never be like, ‘Why are you not flying me?’”
“Get your own private plane. You probably can’t. The only time you’ve flown private is with [Martha Stewart] … so check yourself,” she added.
Meanwhile, Daisy explained her stance.
“I thought people who have private islands have private planes to get to the private island,” she reasoned. “I’m sorry, but like, the flex is not a private island to me. I would’ve been happy at a beach in Aruba … it’s impossible to get to … it was trains, planes, and automobiles.”
Erin agreed it was exhausting.
“I don’t care so much about the private plane. If you’re planning a trip, that was a really awful travel experience, and you should make sure that was more seamless … it was 18 hours, and a flight would’ve been three hours and 20 minutes,” she noted.
As Carole Radziwill, 63, admitted she was “quite amused” by the whole thing, Jessel described Daisy’s comments as “so crazy.”
“Erika invited us last December and, like, everyone flew what they wanted to fly,” she revealed.
Meanwhile, as Sai called out Daisy’s “entitlement,” Hailey Glassman, 39, shaded her “nouveau-riche mindset.”
“Because you have the money, then you should pay for this for us?” she wondered.
The Real Housewives of New York City season 16 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
