RHOP’s Ashley Darby Teases ‘Smooth Cat’ Mauricio Umansky’s Cameo

Ashley Darby isn’t ready to kiss and tell all about Maurico Umansky’s upcoming appearance on The Real Housewives of Potomac.

“He’s a smooth cat,” Ashley, 37, exclusively teased to Us Weekly on Monday, October 6, while celebrating season 10 of the Bravo reality show. “That guy is very smooth.”

Is he so smooth that Gizelle Bryant may find herself flirting with Kyle Richards’ estranged husband on camera?

“I don’t know,” Ashley continued. “I think they have, like, some sort of friendship from before. There’s more there that I don’t even know about.”

When the season 10 trailer was released on August 28, fans couldn’t help but wonder how Mauricio, 55, found himself mingling with the cast.

“Hey Gizelle,” Mauricio said as he went in for a hug and kiss on the cheek. “How are you?”

Gizelle replied, “It’s great to see you.”

While the cameo may have caught some viewers by surprise, Kyle, 56, said she knew about it thanks to a Bravo star.

“Gizelle sent me a DM, saying, ‘Oh, we bumped into him,’” she shared while appearing on Amazon Live September 2. “He’s in the trailer.”

Us confirmed in July 2023 that Kyle and Mauricio were taking time apart after 27 years of marriage. The pair remain cordial, and both parties have yet to file for divorce.

When asked if Kyle will be upset by Mauricio’s upcoming appearance on the show, Ashley predicted that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has nothing to worry about.

“I don’t think so. I know that Gizelle has made mention of him on her ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast,” Ashley said. “I don’t know if the water’s got a little choppy after that with Kyle and Mauricio, but I don’t know where it stands now.”

She continued, “I want to know. I’m ready. When the episode airs, I’m gonna dive right into it, because I want to know what’s happening.”

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Gizelle was asked about her dating life.

One viewer went so far as to ask if she would ever go on a date with Mauricio.

“I would not. Girl code,” she told host Andy Cohen. “He’s an amazingly beautiful man, but I would not because of Kyle.”

As for Ashley, she gave Us a preview into her dating life after finalizing her divorce from Michael Darby.

While she remains friendly with Love Hotel contestant Ralph Mastrangelo, Ashley said she’s still keeping her eyes out for Mr. Right.

“Now that I’m actually really dating and I’m officially divorced, I’m a little more serious about it,” she explained. “I think that was another part of it was when I was dating when I was separated, I was still like, ‘I’m still married, I’m dating to have fun.’ But now that I’m 37, I feel like I’m really ready to actually have a relationship.”
