One of the main plot lines on the currently airing first season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island revolves around Rulla Pontarelli‘s husband Brian‘s affair.
While Rulla has insisted the affair happened in the past, some of the other Housewives have insisted it’s still ongoing, even going as far as to show alleged photographic and video proof.
In the wake of all of the drama, a source has come forward to Reality Blurb to reveal Rulla is snapping at people who are criticizing her husband.
Specifically, the insider divulged to Reality Blurb that Rulla is “losing it” and “reaching out” to people who talk negatively about Brian.
“She has taken to DMing people who say a negative word about him,” the source claimed. “People who have been on the receiving end of her messages are very confused why she continues to defend someone whom she admits cheated on her. She goes on a public show that millions of people will watch, and then expects no one to comment negatively about a situation she apparently seems somewhat blind to the implications of. It’s bizarre.”
“Brian hasn’t come off well,” the insider shared. “It’s clear to everyone on the cast that he was not behaving properly while the show was taping, and they felt like anytime they brought it up with Rulla, she avoided filming and dismissed them,” they added. “It’s bizarre that someone who so badly wanted to be a housewife would 1- not expect the affair to be a focal point and 2- would then not be willing to go head-to-head with the other women when confronted with it.”
“Lest we forget,” they added, “Rulla had him arrested for placing a tracking device on her car. While she dropped the charges, she and he are well aware she could always bring them back up if he were to step out of line.”
The source insisted Rulla should “expect” that people who watch the show and “commentate on it” are going to be discussing her.
“If she’s not open to that type of engagement, she’s on the wrong platform and should step aside for many other women waiting in line for their chance at Bravo’s paycheck and notoriety,” they concluded.
As Reality Blurb reported last month, Rulla came to Brian’s defense, insisting he’s “repented for his sins.”
“Brian is the person who I’ve known my entire life. For any mistakes or misjudgements he’s made, I can honestly tell everyone that he has more than repented his sins,” Rulla told Us Weekly in an interview at the time. “I think everyone will see that.”
“For people who might say, ‘Oh, my God, after what he did, I can’t believe she’s with him or taking him back and she doesn’t need him,’ I feel like for a woman with values, it actually makes you a stronger person,” she added.
