Soooo Richard Gere, 76, and Diana Silvers, 28, are playing love interests in a new movie, and their 48-year age difference has already become the main topic of conversation online before the trailer has even dropped.
The two are currently filming Asymmetry, a romance about a young editorial assistant and a famous older writer. And the second these behind-the-scenes photos hit the internet, people had A LOT to say.

In Pretty Woman, he was 40 while Julia Roberts was 22, giving the actors an 18-year age difference. The pair reunited in Runaway Bride nearly a decade later with the same gap. Then, in Autumn in New York, Richard was 50 while his costar Winona Ryder was 28. So naturally, people noticed a pattern…
One commenter also pointed out that Richard also has a significant age gap in his real-life relationship, with his wife, Alejandra Silva, who is 33 years younger than him.
However, not everyone agreed that the casting was a problem since Richard and Diana are both legal adults.
