The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its highly anticipated Class of 2026, delivering one of the most diverse and genre-spanning lineups in recent years — led by icons like Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, and Phil Collins.
Announced during a special broadcast of American Idol, this year’s inductees reflect the evolving sound of modern music, bridging rock, hip-hop, soul, and alternative.
Joining the 2026 class in the Performer category are Sade, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division / New Order, and the late Luther Vandross; rounding out a class that spans decades of influence and innovation.

For Collins, the honor marks a significant milestone, as he becomes a two-time inductee, having previously entered the Hall as a member of Genesis. Meanwhile, Wu-Tang Clan and Luther Vandross both earned induction in their first year of nomination, underscoring their lasting cultural impact.
Beyond the performer category, the Hall also recognized a wide range of influential figures across special honors. The Early Influence Award will celebrate trailblazers including Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons, while the Musical Excellence Award will honor industry heavyweights such as Rick Rubin and Arif Mardin.

The 2026 class arrives after a competitive nomination cycle that included major names like Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill and Shakira, all of whom were ultimately left off this year’s final list.
Set to take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, the induction ceremony will celebrate not just individual achievements, but the broader evolution of popular music, highlighting how genres once considered separate now coexist under the ever-expanding umbrella of “rock and roll.”
