Ryan Reynolds has made an appearance on The View but he wasn’t a guest.
The actor was enjoying some quality time with his mum, Tammy, in the studio audience of the daytime talk show when host Whoopi Goldberg revealed he was there.
Halfway through the recent episode, she told her fellow panellists, “You never know what’s going on here at The View; sometimes you look up, and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is really great.’ And then you look over, and you go, ‘Oh, snap, there’s Ryan Reynolds.'”

When Goldberg asked the Deadpool star how he found his way into the audience, Reynolds explained his mother was in town to visit her grandchildren.
The IF star added it was his mother’s “dream” to be at a taping of The View, before joking that he used his wife Blake Lively’s name to get them in.

“I said, ‘Let’s go to The View,” Reynolds said.
“So we made a call. I told them, ‘I’m Blake’s husband. I’d love to come to The View. Does that get us a little farther?’ And here we are.”
The actor didn’t join the hosts of The View on stage, instead staying in the audience to enjoy the taping with everyone else.
“This is way less stressful than up there,” the actor quipped before joking that his mother “might have thought she was going to be on The View, maybe.”
Comedian Jo Koy was a guest during the episode, revealing she had met Reynolds’ mother before.

“I know her!” he said. “Vancouver! She came to my show.”
Later in the program, Koy said, “Ryan Reynolds is here! I mean, how cool is that to know your mom made you. Alright? So just remember that. … I love everything you do, man.”
Tammy ended the show by sitting with Goldberg in her seat, closing out the episode she had pre-recorded at home.
