From Seven Lions’ diverse catalog of melodic bass and progressive house to Kompany’s penchant for speaker-busting dubstep, their new single “Foul Tarnished” is a meeting in the middle.
Showcasing a love for Elden Ring, the track’s MC, so to speak, is the game’s character Morgott, the Omen King, whose menacing vocals saturate each massive drop. The drops themselves pinball between bass house and dubstep, each more heavy and rousing than the last.
In a joint post, Seven Lions and Kompany went so far as to announce “Foul Tarnished” as a collaboration with the game character, which garnered exuberant support from fellow Elden Ring fans such as Subtronics.
Out now via Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records, “Foul Tarnished” follows a somber announcement by Kompany, who revealed a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease diagnosis. Howoever, he has remained busy throughout 2024 with many new singles and milestone performances.
