I am very glad to report that Matt Johnson's Anthony Bourdain biopic, Tony, is excellent. It is really well shot, very well acted and with a screenplay that (along with Dominic Sessa's performance) will almost definitely be in the awards conversation. The decision to focus exclusively on a transformative summer Bourdain's late teens is a very good one. Some people may expect Johnson to bring more laughs, as per BlackBerry and Nirvanna The Band The Show – and there are plenty of them – but it is much more a coming of age story, really well told. Sessa is in every scene and owns all of them. submitted by /u/TalkingElvish |
