Sophie Monk has documented the terrifying moment she was forced to flee her Bangkok hotel due to an earthquake.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck around midday with an epicentre in Myanmar, though the effects were felt into the neighbouring country of Thailand with Bangkok authorities confirming 10 deaths in the city.
Monk took to Instagram to share that she was in her hotel room on the 52nd floor when the earthquake hit.

”I have never experienced anything like this,” Monk began in a video recorded after fleeing her accommodation.
She recalled the moment as “the scariest ever earthquake” saying that the building was rocking “from side to side”.
“We were climbing from side to side on our tummies,” she added. “it was so full on.”

The Aussie TV personality shared that she “hopes everyone’s okay” explaining that she was able to flee her hotel by running down the emergency exit.
“It was so hectic,” she said.
Monk also shared several clips of her escape, the first being a video of her and her company rushing down the stairs with sirens blaring in the background.

In another video, she wrote that “there were no alarms or anything giving instructions” as a voice in the distance could be heard asking “can you go down” with Monk responding “I don’t know”.
At the time of publishing the death toll in Myanmar sits at 144 people with a further 730 others injured, with authorities expecting the death toll to rise in the coming days.
At least 10 people were killed in Bangkok, Thailand, with 16 injured and 101 missing from three construction sites, including a collapsed high-rise under construction.
