“Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick handed away instantly this morning from pure causes,” the actor’s rep mentioned in an announcement to Us Weekly on Friday. “He’s survived by his spouse Stephanie Reddick and kids Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Donations in his reminiscence may be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown. Lance might be vastly missed. Please respect his household’s privateness at the moment.”
Among the many first to pay tribute to the Maryland native was Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Lance on the HBO crime drama The Wire.
“A person of nice power and charm,” Pierce, 59, wrote by way of Twitter on Friday. “As proficient a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of sophistication. A sudden surprising sharp painful grief for our creative household. An unimaginable struggling for his private household and family members. Godspeed my good friend. You made your mark right here. RIP.”
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn chimed in, “Lance Reddick was an extremely good man and an extremely proficient actor. That is heartbreaking. My love goes out to all his household, pals and collaborators.”
