Static Dress have released their new album, injury episode. Their sophomore full-length is a commentary on the commodification of art and scroll culture that has destroyed attention spans and discouraged people from challenging the status quo.
Alongside the album is the self-directed video for “dull blade disguise,” which uses psychological and body horror imagery as a metaphor for the machinery of fame, a continuation from their previous visuals. The video represents a critique of society’s tendency to rapidly elevate and then discard emerging artists by celebrating them as stars before turning them into outcasts.

To mark the release, they’ll perform more “Panic Room” shows — concerts that have a no-phone policy to “cut out the noise and let the art speak.” Later this summer, they’ll support Bring Me the Horizon at their Count Your Blessings anniversary show on July 10 and 11 in Manchester.
