Legendary Long Beach icons Sublime are officially back with their first full-length album in nearly three decades. Titled Until the Sun Explodes, the new record arrives June 12 via Atlantic Records and marks the band’s first album featuring Jakob Nowell — son of late frontman Bradley Nowell — as lead vocalist.
The 21-track album blends Sublime’s signature reggae-punk sound with a new generation of collaborators, including H.R., Fletcher Dragge, G. Love, FIDLAR, and Skegss.
Leading the release is the emotional title track “Until The Sun Explodes,” which Jakob says serves as both a tribute to his father and a thank you to longtime fans. The accompanying music video pays homage to the band’s Long Beach roots, featuring appearances from skate legends Christian Hosoi and Omar Hassan.

The announcement continues a massive comeback era for Sublime following their acclaimed reunion performances at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The band is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark self-titled 1996 album with sold-out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a new Grammy Museum exhibit titled Sublime: Straight From Long Beach, and their upcoming traveling festival series.
With nostalgia, emotion, and fresh energy colliding, Until the Sun Explodes looks poised to become one of the summer’s biggest rock releases while honoring the legacy that made Sublime one of Southern California’s most influential bands.
