The Superman cast just keeps growing! New set photos from the film reveals fans’ first looks at the costumes for Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl.
Ever since the set photos dropped revealing Edi Gathegi’s suit for Mister Terrific, fans have been on the edge of their seat waiting for any glimpse at the other heroes set to make a cameo in Superman. It seems their wish has finally been granted, with fans getting their first look at both Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern Guy Gardner and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl thanks to Cleveland.com.
These set photos show off the suits of Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl and Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner in action. While the Green Lantern himself isn’t in flight, it’s likely he’s using his powers to levitate Mister Terrific while he’s speaking to Superman. Either way, the costumes certainly look better than most expected!
Superman’s Restyle Of Hawkgirl & Green Lantern
Fans were quick to notice Hawkgirl and Green Lantern don’t look exactly like they’re used to. Isabela Merced is wearing a much more plastic-y helmet than fans were expecting, though it’s possible it’ll be composited over in post-production. Guy Gardner’s bowl cut is also a lot less pronounced than many fans expected it to be in Superman.
Though, most interestingly, both characters costumes are uncharacteristically white. Neither Hawkgirl nor Guy Gardner have any suits resembling these in the comics. This could mean that Isabela Merced and Nathan Fillion’s characters may actually be a member of The Terrifics, not the Justice League International as many speculated. Though, at the very least, the Green Lantern suit kept the iconic logo!
