Sydney Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino have recently faced relationship hurdles, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” the insider exclusively tells Us. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
Sweeney, 27, and Davino, 41, were first linked in 2018, getting engaged four years later. According to the source, all wedding plans have since come “to a halt.”
“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” the insider claims. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”

The insider further tells Us that most of Sweeney and Davino’s issues surround the actress’ packed production schedule.
“A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments,” the source says. “She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
Sweeney giving her “full attention” to her latest film and TV projects has also allegedly caused friction with Davino, per the insider.
“Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars,” the source alleges. “It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan.”

Sweeney, for instance, starred in 2023’s Anyone But You with Glen Powell and behind-the-scenes cast photos subsequently sparked affair rumors that they both fervently denied. (Powell, 36, meanwhile, was dating model Gigi Paris at the time.)
“I don’t have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she’s very smart,” Powell told Business Insider in December 2023. “And look, Sydney and I do have authentic chemistry. … It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship and she’s very happy.”
Sweeney and Davino coproduced Anyone But You together.
“It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision and your voice,” Sweeney told Glamour UK in December 2023. “And it’s nice. I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time? I just wanted to bring everybody into my world.”
While speaking with the outlet, Sweeney also praised their dynamic as “steady.”
“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” the Euphoria star added. “What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up and then tear them down.”
