The Department of Child and Family Services is pursuing an aggressive ruling against Taylor Frankie Paul.
On Thursday, TMZ reported that Utah’s DCFS filed a petition asking a juvenile court to find that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s three kids, including 8-year-old daughter Indy and 5-year-old son Ocean, whom she shares with ex Tate Paul, and 2-year-old son Ever, whom she shares with ex Dakota Mortensen, have been “abused, neglected or dependent.”
People confirmed the DCFS further wants the court to order protective supervision for the children, and a guardian ad litem to represent them. According to the outlet, the petition was filed by the Utah Attorney General’s Office, which also requested a hearing be fast-tracked.

According to details of the filing, which was seen by TMZ, Taylor told a DCFS agent during a May 2026 home visit that her life coach Kari was “the only reason she was still alive,” and requested she conduct assessments for her mental health and domestic violence. The filings further reveal that the DCFS informed the reality star that Kari was not qualified to conduct such assessments.

Elsewhere in the same visit, Taylor reportedly became agitated after reading social media messages and even stormed out of the house. She also apparently told DCFS agents she wasn’t suicidal, but they “should know who killed her if she ends up dead because she felt no one believes her.”
The filing further includes the domestic violence incident in which Taylor threw a chair at Dakota while Indy was present as evidence, as well as revelations that the young girl if the one who changes Ever’s diapers, preps his bottles, and hears her mother fighting with Dakota, which makes her sad.
The DCFS went on to report that Taylor became “escalated and dysregulated” during their home visit and that Ever attempted to seek comfort from Taylor’s sister/nanny Aspen.
Lastly, the DCFS claimed Taylor’s own therapist alleged she has not committed in a meaningful way to sessions, and it felt as though she was being “forced” to be there.
A source for the 32-year-old has since responded to the report with a statement to TMZ:
“The fact that this leaked speaks volumes on its own. Juvenile court is private to protect the children’s interests, leaking this information does the exact opposite. Someone is clearly acting in their own interest, not the children’s.”
They added:
“This is also based on incomplete information. It leaves out DCFS’s documented concerns about the other side, which are on record in district court and with law enforcement. The juvenile court will weigh all of that in full.”
Her lawyers also issued a statement to People:
“It was recently decided that the ongoing custody actions would be best suited for juvenile court, a common step for families engaged in highly contentious, complex custody matters. Taylor is not deterred by this transition; she welcomes the added structure and oversight it provides and looks forward to continuing her progress toward normalizing custody and becoming the healthiest version of herself. Taylor remains fully committed to doing whatever is necessary to reach that goal and will not be swayed from it. Taylor appreciates the professionalism of DCFS and its representatives.”
