Robert Pattinson has offered a fresh update on The Batman Part 2 while on the press tour for his new film, The Drama, and it sounds like the highly anticipated sequel is closer than fans might think.
Robert Pattinson says he will start preparing for The Batman 2 in a week
Pattinson has confirmed he will begin preparing for The Batman Part 2 within a week of finishing the press tour for his new film, The Drama. “We’ll probably finish this press tour in… a week? And then I’ll immediately start doing Batman stuff,” Pattinson said while appearing on the French talk show C à vous. “The new script is so, so good,” he added.
The actor has separately described the script as “extraordinary,” telling Deadline, “I think it’s going to be a really, really, really special movie. And very, very different to… even from the last one. I was reading it, going like, ‘Oh wow! Okay!’ It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings.”
Director Matt Reeves, who sent Pattinson the script in a privacy pouch with a coded entry to protect its secrets, previously spoke about the actor’s reaction. “He’s Batman, and if he doesn’t like it, not good,” Reeves told The Hollywood Reporter. “I was super excited. I thought that he really would [like it] because the things that it does for his character, for Batman and for Bruce, have never been done before in this way,” he further stated.
Sebastian Stan takes on the role of Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent, with prosthetic makeup designer Mike Marino, who transformed Colin Farrell into The Penguin, reportedly working on the production. Scarlett Johansson joins the cast in a mystery role, with multiple reports suggesting she plays Harvey’s wife, Gilda Dent.
The Batman Part 2 hits theaters on October 1, 2027, around five-and-a-half years after the first film.
