Prime Video has unleashed the first explosive teaser for the fifth and final season of The Boys, and it dosen’t waste any time showing how unhinged things have become under Homelander’s rule.
Along with the carnage filled footage, the streamer also confirmed when fans can dive back into the chaos. The new season premieres April 8, 2026, kicking off with two episodes before rolling out weekly until the finale lands on May 20.
The story picks up not long after last season’s brutal conclusion and the official synopsis reads: “It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’
“Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it.”
The teaser avoids spilling major plot points but gives fans plenty to chew on. It showcases returning heroes and villains locked in a tighter corner than ever, and it flashes several newcomers who are bound to shake up the battlefield.
It also features the arrival of Jared Padalecki, setting up an on screen reunion with longtime co star Jensen Ackles.. That will be a fun dynamic to see again.
This final chapter brings back a massive ensemble that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, and Daveed Diggs.
