Now, multiple Boys actors appear to have also indicated that they feel disappointed with the Prime Video series’ final installment.
The Boys stars seem to agree with fans’ subpar reaction to Season 5
It appears that both Karl Urban and Laz Alonso, who play Billy Butcher and Mother’s Milk in The Boys, may have recently expressed some dissatisfaction with Season 5 of the series, albeit indirectly. The two actors’ recent social media activity has convinced some fans that they are not happy with the trajectory of the satirical show’s final season.
Alonso recently shared a reel on his Instagram profile that criticizes The Boys Season 5 for prioritizing Soldier Boy’s arc over that of Mother’s Milk. The clip features a fan stating, “I wish they would give some of the time that they’re giving to Soldier Boy to MM.” They added, “So that this could feel like a little bit more of a continuous arc, because it’s feeling kind of startling.”
He also shared another reel on his Instagram stories a few days ago that complained about the death of Black Noir at the hands of The Deep (via Forbes).
Meanwhile, Karl Urban left a like on a fan’s reaction to The Boys Season 5, during which the fan slammed the sixth episode for making no sense.
Additionally, Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in the series, has also reacted to several Instagram posts highlighting an apparent drop in quality in the show’s final season. While one post described Season 5 as “the biggest piece of dog s—,” another clip featured a distressed Homelander with the text, “Pov: watching your fav show getting ruined.” Starr simply left a heart emoji in the comment section of such posts, which has confused some fans.
The Boys Season 5 is just days away from its finale, with Episode 8 on track to come out on May 20, 2026.
