The upcoming Paramount+ sequence Deadly Attraction—starring Lizzy Caplan, Joshua Jackson and Amanda Peet—will drop its first two episodes April 30, the streamer introduced Jan. 9.
Deadly Attraction is described by Paramount+ as “a deep-dive reimagining” of the traditional 1987 thriller starring Glenn Shut, Michael Douglas and Anne Archer within the roles now performed by Caplan, Jackson and Peet, respectively.
“The brand new sequence will discover deadly attraction and the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity,” the streamer says, “by the lens of contemporary attitudes towards robust girls, persona problems and coercive management.”
Alexandra Cunningham, who beforehand labored with Peet on Soiled John: The Betty Broderick Story, acts as showrunner and author.
“[The show] is about how some folks simply cannot take a win,” Cunningham stated at Deadly Attraction‘s Tv Critics Affiliation panel Jan. 9. “It is about self-image and what we’ll do to guard it, and in addition what occurs when somebody does not have one. And if we have completed our job, which these actors and their colleagues positively did, they assume that your sympathies will shift greater than as soon as.”
