EXCLUSIVE: The Pitt is expanding its Season 2 cast, adding Lawrence Robinson (Three Ways) in a recurring role.
Robinson will play Brian Hancock, a sweet, charming, and kind-hearted patient who turns a soccer injury into a possible meet-cute with one of the doctors.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill, The Pitt follows Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s (Noah Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room. Each episode is one hour in Robby’s frenetic day.
Offering a real-time format, the series traces, hour-by-hour, the medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must navigate as they reckon with an overabundance of patients and a lack of resources.
The series is led by Wyle, who also executive produces and writes. The ensemble cast also includes Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell and guest star Shawn Hatosy.
Also recurring in Season 2 are Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard and Lucas Iverson.
Gemmill previously teased Deadline that Season 2 will take place over the Fourth of July weekend and will feature a time jump and new characters.
The Pitt recently received 13 Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actor for Wyle. Since its debut, the critically acclaimed series has stayed among the top three of the streamer’s most-watched titles globally, including a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Robinson, known for his work across television and film, recently appeared in the Hulu feature Three Ways, and has been featured on BET’s Tales, Sistas, and Route 187 as well as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He’s repped by 831 Entertainment and HRI Talent.
