Justin Bieber performed in boxers. Chappell Roan was NSFW. And Joni Mitchell and her sassy little gold beret stole the show. You can always count on the Grammy Awards to deliver looks that wow, inspire and confuse (sometimes all at the same time), and this year was no different. For a full rundown of what hit the red carpet, click here. For a full rundown of the looks that had us talking the most, keep reading.

A quick recap: There were feathers everywhere, the skin was most definitely on display and half the attendees turned up in matchy-matchy outfits. Check out these noteworthy looks …

Right out of the gate, the Swedish singer made her presence — and abs — known in a sunny, sequined two-piece by Germanier (which, fun fact, was hand-beaded by 12 people).

Most darling: Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter knows how to deliver thrills — and frills. The singer went for classic glamour in a custom tulle gown by Valentino boasting delicate pearl detailing and a sheer capelet that’s short and sweet, just like her.

Most matchy-matchy: Katseye

If the members of Katseye ever get asked to be bridesmaids, they need only reach for these coordinated looks by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. So lovely, so lacy.

Best headwear: Joni Mitchell

The cane. The beret. The sparkles. At 82, Joni Mitchell — who won her 11th Grammy on Sunday — blew away the red carpet competition.

Sparkliest suit: Sombr

Sombr was giving “walking disco ball” in his silver sequin Valentino suit over a sheer lace turtleneck that offered a generous glimpse of his torso.

Best nude: Chappell Roan

Naked dresses were definitely trending, but it was Chappell Roan who took the cake in a sheer maroon Mugler dress. Last year’s Best New Artist winner wore a matching cape with the look during interviews on the red carpet, but ultimately revealed a more risqué ‘fit when she posed with just the bottom piece of the fabric held up by her nipple piercings.

Best faux nude: Heidi Klum

Could Heidi Klum sit in her custom-molded patent leather dress? Erm, no. Was it worth it? Probably! The Queen of Halloween’s curve-hugging, is-she-naked-or-am-I-imagining-things dress certainly stood out.

Best supporting dress: Teyana Taylor

Continuing her hot streak of daring red carpet looks (remember the bow thong at the Golden Globes?), Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor risked a wardrobe malfunction in this slinky, sparkling chestnut-hued number from Tom Ford. Drop the body tape details!

Most dapper: Bad Bunny

A week before he takes the stage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Bad Bunny sported a very swanky velvet Schiaparelli tuxedo that screamed “matinee idol.”

Comfiest couture: Lola Young

In a sea of thongs and skimpy get-ups, Grammy winner Lola Young looked comfy and cozy in a matching set from Vivienne Westwood, featuring camo-inspired prints of children’s toys and trinkets. A white button-down shirt and striped necktie added a certain Harry Potter flair.

Fluffiest feathers: Kesha

Feathers were called out as a red carpet trend early in the evening, but Kesha flew above the rest when she showed up in a shaggy, off-shoulder Atelier Biser dress. The gown went to the ground, concealing the singer’s wildest accessory: her bare feet.

Most oversize: Audrey Nuna

She’s got a larger-than-life hit song (“Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters) and a larger-than-life dress. Audrey Nuna, one-third of Huntr/x, stood out in this sculptural Thom Browne design, which blended sharp tailoring with the biggest puffed sleeves you ever did see.

Most drop-dead gorgeous: Olivia Dean

Olivia Dean walked into the Grammys as a classic beauty in a custom Chanel gown featuring sequins, feathers and a full skirt. She’s walking out as the winner of the Best New Artist award.

Prettiest in pink: Malice, Pusha T and Pharrell Williams

On Grammys Sunday we wear pink: Malice, Pusha T and Pharrell Williams stepped out in matching Louis Vuitton suits, though LV creative director Williams gets bonus points for stepping up his accessories game. Clock those diamonds, would you?
